I’m addicted to stationery, particularly notebooks. For writing my favourite is a hard-backed A4 coil bound number, and if the pen fits in the coil all the better. I don’t like getting the same cover twice. But I use extra large ones for plotting and small ones for notes on the go. And if a notebook is pretty enough I don’t actually care if it is the right size: even if I never use it, it’ll look good on my shelf.
I love post-it-notes of all shapes and sizes; jotting pads; all sizes of little pads that can be on every surface of the house for that moment I need to write some down, right now.
Currently I’m really liking my 0.7 turquoise gel pen. Gel pens glide easily and the colours you can get them in are great. Being able to use different colours in plot plans or diagrams for different characters or sections is really helpful.
I write dark and chilling thrillers for teens, including the multi-award winning, best-selling Slated trilogy, Mind Games, and Book of Lies. My new book is Contagion, out with Orchard Books in the UK on 18th May 2017. It is the first of the Dark Matter Trilogy.
