As a travel writer, I use pens for note-taking on the road but I couldn’t say I have a favourite, the cheaper the better.
Likewise for note books, size, practicality and price matter more than looks. During the day, I carry a jotter pad for brief, often barely legible notes which I transfer long-hand into a proper diary in the evening. At home I go through a lot of memo sheets and sticky notes and that’s always value for money.
I specialise in features covering a wide range of destinations and themes for UK and world-wide publications as well as online markets. I was commissioned by John Hunt to write an ‘how to’ book on travel writing and by Berlitz to produce their first pocket guide to Bhutan. Berlitz Pocket Guide Bhutan (Berlitz Pocket Guides) was released July 1st 2017.
Both are available on https://www.amazon.co.uk/Solange-Hando/e/B0034PMN7Q and you can find out more about my work on http://www.travelwriters.co.uk/solangehando/ or follow my blog -mostly pictures- on http://solangehando.blogspot.co.uk/.
I am available for commissioned work (words and images), workshops, talks and judging competitions. I belong to the BGTW and ITWA.
