My favourite pen is any black or brown fine liner, in particular Staedtler pigment liners in 0.05 and the recently discovered UNI PIN which not only comes in black and brown but grey too!
When buying a notebook I always plump for Moleskine, always. I think I’m keeping them in business! Their sketchbooks are expensive but I love the smooth creamy texture of the pages and the covers are always in a hue that pleases me. I don’t like bright colours so Moleskine’s muted shades suit me well. Size wise I like the small ones for initial ideas and then I move onto the bigger size for developing my ideas further.
I also buy a lot of coloured fineliners to fill in my diary, Moleskine diary, of course! My husband recently bought me these Arteza fine liners , it took a few weeks of hinting then begging but I got them eventually. I buy washi tape for my diary as well as I enjoy illustrating everything, including my schedule but since the arrival of my youngest child two years ago, I rarely get time.
I live in a ramshackle 17th Century cottage in South Northamptonshire where I write, draw, run sewing courses and grow vegetables. My latest book, ‘Veronica Twitch, The Fabulous Witch’ was published last Halloween by Wacky Bee Books. I have three more books being published this year and in Spring 2020 called ‘Miss Bunsen’s School For Brilliant Girls’ published by Albert Whitman in the U.S.
